Европейска седмица на устойчивата енергия ще се проведе в цяла Европа от понеделник, 11 април, до петък, 15 април 2011 г. Европейската седмица на устойчивата енергия показва последници иновации в енергийната ефективност и технологията за възобновяема енергия, политика и практика чрез разнообразна програма от мероприятия и събития в цяла Европа. Всеки може да организира и да бъде част от мероприятията през седмицата на устойчивата енергия, чиято цел е да покаже на бизнеса, отговорните лица и широката публика,че технологиите за устойчива енергия са приложими, икономично ефективни и полезни за околната среда. Миналата година, общо 500 събития се проведоха в 30 държави през европейската седмица на устойчивата енергия.

13 APRIL 2011: LOCAL AND REGIONAL ACTION FOR SUSTAINABLE ENERGY

I. Morning session: ManagEnergy Annual Conference

Who is it for?

Energy agencies, public authorities, local and regional energy actors, policy makers, energy consultants, regional representatives, anyone interested in energy efficiency and renewable energy actions in local communities!

What is there for you?

• The latest developments in EU sustainable energy policy.
• Technical support for energy efficiency and renewable energy at the local and regional level.
• Concrete examples of the successful collaboration between energy agencies and local authorities.
• The ManagEnergy Award ceremony, with the participation of the European Commissioner for Energy, Mr Oettinger, and the President of the Committee of the Regions, Ms Bresso.

II. Afternoon session: Covenant of Mayors

What local actions are being triggered by the Covenant of Mayors? How is the European funding being used? What difference is the Covenant making? Find the answers during this Covenant of Mayors afternoon!

What is there for you?

• Practical results from the Covenant of Mayors signatory cities and regions, including the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for energy efficiency at local and regional level and line-up to the Smart Cities initiative.
• A specific session on financing of sustainable energy measures at local and regional level, including structural funds, ELENA facility and a new EU energy efficiency investment facility.
• Practical examples and lessons learnt.

14 APRIL 2011: MANAGENERGY WORKSHOP ON THE ELENA FACILITY

Who is it for?

The half-day workshop is especially recommended for the management and technical staff from European regions and cities, as well as other key local energy actors, such as local and regional energy agencies.

What is there for you?

The workshop will combine expert presentations with case studies and group discussions. In particular, the programme will include:

• Presentations from the European Investment Bank (EIB).
• Good practices from the local and regional level.
• Practical information on how to submit a successful application to ELENA.
• A presentation on the IEE initiative on Mobilising Local Energy Investments (MLEI).

There will also be ample opportunity for participants to ask questions and obtain feedback from EIB staff.
